We are excited to announce that The Waste Transformers will be participating in the upcoming Egyptian Waste Management Workshop on October 8th -10th, 2024 in Cairo. Our marketing manager, Coen Bakker, has been invited to speak on Day 1 of this event, where he will discuss the Dutch journey towards organic waste valorization and explore how innovative waste transformation solutions can be applied to Egypt’s unique waste management challenges.
About the Event
Supported by the Dutch Embassy in Cairo, this workshop serves as a critical platform for industry leaders and policymakers to exchange ideas, identify opportunities, and explore sustainable solutions. The Egyptian waste management landscape is complex, with major gaps in waste segregation, transportation, and recycling, particularly in organic waste management. Coen’s presentation will focus on how The Waste Transformers‘ technology and business model can offer valuable insights and practical solutions for both industrial and commercial sectors in Egypt.
Coen’s presentation will be at 14:45 – 15:30 on October 8th, where he will outline the Dutch approach to organic waste valorisation, innovative solutions and success stories, and application in the Egyptian context.
Why This Matters for Egypt
Egypt faces a pressing need for improved waste management practices, especially in organic waste processing. With approximately 60% of agricultural waste being discarded and a lack of effective waste segregation across sectors, there is immense potential for Egypt to benefit from innovations in biogas and composting technologies. Coen will explore how The Waste Transformers‘ proven solutions can be tailored to meet these needs, offering a path toward sustainable growth and reduced environmental impact.
We are looking forward to a productive exchange of ideas and to showcasing how The Waste Transformers can contribute to a more sustainable waste management system in Egypt. Join Coen Bakker and other thought leaders at the Egyptian Waste Management Workshop for an insightful session on driving waste-to-value solutions for the future.
