The Waste Transformers is one of 25 nominees of the Postcode Lottery Green Challenge

We have great news to share.
We are delighted and proud to announce that The Waste Transformers has been selected as on of the twenty-five Postcode Lottery Green Challenge nominees 2017! The Postcode Lottery Green Challenge is one of the world’s largest competitions in the field of sustainable entrepreneurship. This year, a record of 515 green start-ups from all over the world submitted their promising sustainable business plans. The winner will receive €500,000 to further develop the product or service, and to bring it to market.

The goal of the challenge is to speed up the transition towards a low carbon economy. From the twenty-five nominees, five finalists will be selected. The winner will receive €500,000

If food waste was a country, it would be the third largest greenhouse gas emitter in the world!

We have been selected because of our ability to tackle this issue head on. The Waste Transformers are on a mission to revolutionise how we deal with waste in a way that is green, clean, entrepreneurial and smart.

We allow everyone to create their own energy by transforming organic waste on-site, in installations housed in shipping containers, into green energy. No transportation. No CO2. We also recover the water and nutrients in the waste, and to give all of these back to the same site.

It’s a gamechanger that allows markets, hospitals, airports and local communities, to power their future with good energy whilst realising small-scale circular economies around something that would otherwise be wasted. Our game-changer is not just about the technology. We have an unique approach to realising our waste revolution through our “Business in a Box” that allows young entrepreneurs all over the world, to run one of our installations as a business providing them with the financial and technical support needed to be successful whilst cleaning their neighbourhoods.
