The Waste Transformers is pleased to announce Pieter-Willem Lips as Commercial Director effective as per 1 February 2024. Pieter-Willem has developed a strong commercial background within ABN AMRO Bank and has in-depth knowledge on the energy transition and technology necessary for societies to make the shift towards a more circular economy. With an extensive track record in closing international deals, setting up partnerships with clients and building high performance teams, Pieter-Willem is therefore an excellent addition to The Waste Transformers.
At the Waste Transformers, Pieter-Willem will be responsible for the further development and execution of the commercial strategy, developing market propositions, establishing long term partnerships with clients and bringing the commercial organisation of The Waste Transformers to the next level.
Pieter Willem’s arrival comes at a pivotal moment. After closing a EUR 10M investment round in 2023, the company is experiencing rapid international expansion. His role will be instrumental in steering the commercial aspect of the business towards steady profitable growth and satisfied customers. Pieter-Willem’s extensive background at ABN AMRO and his ability to set up and grow teams to over 100 employees, will bring a long-term strategic edge to the company’s commercial operations.

The Waste Transformers provides on-site modular biodigesters to empower organizations to take control of their food waste streams, achieve sustainability goals, and even generate additional income through the production of on-site clean energy and natural fertilizer sales. With activities in Europe, Africa and the Middle East, the global problem of landfilled food waste is in this way solved through a decentralized approach of valorising food waste at its source.

The Waste Transformers is a Dutch company that specializes in the design and installation of small-scale biodigesters that are placed at organizations that produce food waste. Food waste is converted into clean energy that organizations can use themselves, generated by these modular biodigesters. The natural fertilizers from food waste are a valuable and sustainable alternative to polluting chemical fertilizers. The biodigesters are produced in Velsen-Noord. The company is active internationally, within Europe, Africa, South America and the Middle East.
